On Sunday, May 6th we will celebrate Laity Sunday at St. John’s church. The regularly scheduled worship services both at St. John’s and the Chapel will be suspended this day that we might come together for one worship service to be held at the St. John’s in Seaford, located at 300 North Pine Street. The single service worship hour will begin at 10am followed with a catered luncheon to follow at 11am. There is no cost for the luncheon, so mark your calendars now for Sunday, May 6th at 10am, Mr. Mark Keeler will be our lay speaker this year and will be preaching from the Gospel of John Chapter 15.
The ministry of the laity is the work of mission or ministry to which each believer is called. As Christians, we are all called to this ministry or priesthood – not just clergy. Each of us has a responsibility to proclaim the Good News and reach out to others in love. Rev. Barbara, Pastor Allen and I look forward to this very special day in the life of St. John’s Church and Chapel.
