Thrift Shop

Please keep us in mind when you are doing your spring cleaning. We accept clothing and shoes for adults and children, housewares, and small appliances. We do not accept furniture or toys. We continue to collect children’s books to be given out to every child to encourage reading. If you are interested in sorting, stocking shelves, or waiting on individuals, please let us know. We are open on Thursdays from 1-3 p.m. for donations and Saturdays 9-12 for operation.

Store Hours:
Thursdays: donations received from 1 to 3 in the afternoon

To show Christ’s love in the surrounding community with clothing and household items.

Mission:
St. John’s Community Thrift Shop is called by God to do Christ’s work in the community by offering quality, gently used merchandise at affordable prices.

Supported Local Missions In 2013 are:
Seaford/Blades Associated Charities
St. John’s Community Food Closet
Salvation Army
Love, Inc.
Safe Program of Peoples Place

Items Sold:
We have quality clothing and shoes, linens, quilts, books, art, small appliances, lamps, jewelry, silverware, kitchenware, and collectibles.

Donations:
We always need donations. Your tax-deductible donations enable us to fulfill our primary purpose—to raise funds for our mission projects—and to provide the community with needed items at a reasonable price. Donations are received on Thursdays each week from 1 to 3 in the afternoon.

Volunteers:
Our volunteers are individuals who want to give back to their communities, parents who want to set good examples for their children, retired people willing to share their wealth of knowledge, and concerned citizens of all ages who want to give of their time and talents. Our volunteers are one of our greatest treasures. Volunteers are an important aspect of the operations of our Thrift Shop. Our volunteers graciously donate their time to help with receiving, pricing, stocking, and selling items.

Donated Items Accepted/Not Accepted:
At the Thrift Store, we appreciate and accept most items. Our goal is to offer gently used items to the community at a fair price. We check each and every item before it is set out to sell. It is checked for color quality, overall appearance, functionality, as well as wear and tear of the product. There are, however, some items we simply cannot accept. Some of these items include: large appliances, computers/printers, laptops, tires, and fabric furniture.

Donations Are Tax Deductible:
For tax purposes, we can supply the donor with a receipt for their donation. This receipt does include our Tax ID number and a place for you to list the items you donated.

We’d love for you to visit the store to shop, to drop off donations, or to volunteer!

Thanks for your support—we look forward to seeing you!
